Large tract of land owned by the Army Corps and managed by the WVDNR. The plot is located in a northeast facing cove created by an unnamed tributary of the Guyandotte River. Down the cove ~.4 miles is the Guyandotte Campground road. Between here and there are plots BAIL.9 and BAIL.11. Up the cove ~.5 miles is a spider ridge which parallels CR 97.;Beautiful mature cover forest on a shady NNW facing slope. The overstory trees represented by Quercus rubra- Tilia american are well spaced and very tall. The understory is a dense canopy of Acer saccharum. The forest floor is covered with rich site herbs. There is deer browse on the more palatable forbs.
